Every year, my business partner invites me to Mallorca. A place he goes back to every year. This year I finally said yes. And I didn’t just go: I brought my girl and my daughter, plus my parents and my brother.
I’ve worked from home for 8+ years, mostly at the same desk in the same house. Lately I’ve been pushing myself to actually use the freedom that setup gives me and get out more. Packing a laptop and flying 12+ hours felt like proof I’d gotten better at it — actually working from anywhere, not just saying it.
The downside of this lifestyle is you never fully clock out. What’s helped me is knowing exactly what needs to get done and getting it out of the way — first thing in the morning, or once the day’s wound down.
So this video is me designing a client sales page while trying to actually vacation with my family in Mallorca. Living in both worlds — and learning when to close the laptop and just be there.
